SOPHROLOGY
Isabelle SIMONNET
My background:
I completed my training in sophrology at the Institut de Formation à la Sophrologie in Paris and obtained my RNCP certification. I also specialized in sophrology applied to endometriosis and have been working in my Boulogne office since 2022.
What is sophrology?
Sophrology allows the patient to find harmony with her body at a time when this body is perceived as hostile. It can provide tools to better manage pain and/or stress, to reappropriate her body and accompany the patient, especially during her medical examinations. To recreate this harmony, sophrology uses gentle exercises based on muscle relaxation, controlled breathing and the visualization of positive images. During the first session, which lasts about 1 hour and 15 minutes, I try to measure the impact of the pain on the daily life of the patient and therefore I ask a certain number of questions. According to the answers and needs expressed, I build a personalized protocol to meet the objective set by the patient. This protocol can be adapted at any time according to her needs. This is why each session begins with an interview that will allow me to adjust the exercises if necessary. A final interview will allow us to collect the patient's feelings about the exercises performed.
